About

Tricia is a qualified art therapist and body-oriented psychotherapist, dedicated to facilitating individuals to connect to their true nature, experience a deep sense of well-being, and enjoy fulfilling lives.

Tricia has over eleven years of experience counselling children, adolescents, and adults in paediatric, educational, mental health, and trauma recovery settings. Her clinical practice is supported by extensive professional training and ongoing supervision. Tricia is also an explorer of human potential, with twenty years of personal development work of her own. She is continuously expanding her knowledge and refining her skills, and her therapeutic offerings now include creative/expressive, body-oriented/somatic and sound therapies.

The modalities Tricia offers are informed by leading-edge research, a rich understanding of trauma and early attachment disruptions, and age-old practices based on ancient wisdom that are gaining increasing recognition from emerging scientific evidence.

Through her personal and professional experience, Tricia has gained a profound appreciation of the interconnected nature of our mental, emotional, physical, and energetic bodies; and how we are impacted by our relationships with one another and our environment.

This has led to her commitment to work holistically in support of the body’s native intelligence coming into balance and harmony, so as to facilitate healing and transformation that deepens the experience of innate aliveness, personal power, freedom and joy.

Tricia’s intention is to provide a safe therapeutic container for people to explore and expand their connection with different aspects of their full self, with the end result of a greater experience of wholeness and a life that is truly fulfilling.

PERSONAL INSIGHT

What is a quote or phrase you live by?

I love this quote by Sheree Bliss Tilsley as it beautifully illustrates my therapeutic approach:

"I will not rescue you;
For you are not powerless.
I will not fix you;
For you are not broken.
I will not heal you;
For I see you, in your wholeness.
I will walk with you through the darkness
as you remember your light."

What is your favourite music to practice to?
I love practicing to music by Matsumoto Zoku.

What makes you feel grounded?
Becoming aware of my breath and feeling the support of the ground helps me to stay present and grounded.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?
Embodied movement practices help me to connect with myself, de-stress, express myself and have fun!
