Style
I create a safe, non-judgemental environment to support you. I believe it is important for me, as the therapist, to be 100 % present, so that you can feel authentically listened to. My approach is to work in a collaborative and gradual manner, moving at a pace that feels right for you at every stage of therapy.
Modality & APPROACH
I tailor my therapeutic approach in sessions to the issues you face, balancing this with your preferences at every step. My goal is for you and I co-create the session and jointly decide the therapeutic direction going forth.
I have a strong interest in Third Wave Psychotherapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness based Interventions (MBIs) and Schema Therapy.
I also have a strong interest in supporting people who have experienced complex childhood trauma, and I have completed additional specialist training with the Blue Knot Foundation, a trauma-focused organisation, to help inform my clinical practice in this area.
I am also currently training in the Conversational Model of Contemporary Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Australia and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP).
The therapeutic modalities I utilise are:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Motivational Interviewing
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness based therapy strategies
Schema Therapy
The Conversational Model. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
