Margot is a Mental Health Accredited Occupational Therapist with over 20 years’ experience. She has worked in both inpatient and community settings, most recently as a counsellor with Youth and Family Mental Health. She is accredited to provide services eligible for a Medicare rebate with a Mental Health Care Plan referral, the Healthy Minds programme and some private health companies.
Margot is interested in the mind/body relationship and how it expands or limits our behaviour and beliefs. She has completed Level 1 (Interventions for Trauma) and Level 2 (Attachment Trauma) in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-based talking therapy and has had additional training in Art Therapy, CBT, DBT, EMDR (Level 1) and Eating Disorders.
As an Occupational Therapist Margot embraces a goal directed, collaborative, strengths based approach. This means that therapy is focussed on everyday outcomes such as being able to go shopping or getting back to work. Each session is a gentle process grounded in mindfulness which unfolds at the client’s own pace.
While Programme Co-ordinator at Coffs Harbour Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit Margot introduced Sensory Modulation, an award-winning innovation and continues to utilise sensory approaches in her work.
Assessments include:
Sensory Profile assessments for adolescents and adults to analyse sensory preferences and how they can be used to help people cope better with everyday demands.
Functional Assessments for Cognitive Impairment, which can be used for NDIS applications.
She offers tailored interventions for a variety of conditions including:

Somatic Disorders
