PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE at HARBOUR THERAPY CLINIC- ONLINE
 About
Of utmost importance is creating a trusting therapeutic relationship with the client. Gabrielle takes a person-centered therapeutic approach, where the client is seen as a person, rather than as a problem or a list of symptoms. In creating a non-judgmental, safe and confidential space, Gabrielle aims to help clients openly discuss their deepest concerns and worries. In this way, clients can discover different ways of thinking about a problem, better ways to cope, identify tangible strategies to try, or simply be heard and understood.

No issue is too big or too small, whether it be feelings of anxiety, depression or uncertainty. The grief and deep sense of loneliness which comes with bereavement or other loss, benefits from a therapist, such as Gabrielle, who can sit with the client in a compassionate and peaceful way.

During many years working with cancer patients, survivors and carers, Gabrielle has supported clients to understand the multitude of losses and emotions which come with a cancer diagnosis. Clients may find it difficult to cope with the shock of diagnosis, they may experience a loss of control or may want to regain a sense of safety and hope. Carers and those with a diagnosis have different experiences and emotional needs; she is able to help them negotiate and normalise their thoughts and feelings.

Gabrielle takes a holistic view of people and their place in the world. She views the emotional, social and environmental surroundings as strong influencers for a person’s overall wellbeing.
