Continuing Professional Development for Mental Health Practitioners and Human Service Providers (CPD) at Harbour Therapy Clinic, Coffs Harbour.
The continuing professional development programme of Harbour Therapy Clinic, Coffs Harbour, provides innovative, challenging and inspiring continuing educational events for psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, medical practitioners and other mental health workers. Our seminar leaders and panels are chosen from the field and are often the most experienced practitioners who draw upon contemporary theory and the latest research findings and theoretical developments. Harbour Therapy Clinic professional development events aim to build bridges between schools of thought and are committed to interdisciplinary discussion.
All our trainings reward participants with CPD points with APA, AASW, PACFA, CAPA and affiliated professional bodies. We organise training that presents information drawn from the latest research and presented by those who are passionate about their area of specialisation. The trainings are didactic but also experiential as we focus on how to translate theoretical and empirical knowledge into the practice of working directly with clients.
Harbour Therapy Clinic events are designed for the participants' well-being. With that in mind, we provide time and space for people to network, thoughtfully prepared materials and other resources. Our goal is to create a friendly and secure learning community to support people in their clinical work and professional lives. We recognise that, while professional psychotherapists or other mental health workers are required to continue learning and developing skills throughout their careers, doing so in a meaningful way takes considerable commitment. We provide our colleagues with skills and knowledge that lead to increased professional confidence, better work and an edge in the field.
