She provides guidance in art making with awareness. Marg works with individuals, couples and groups using artmaking and creativity to bring awareness to clients deep concerns and wishes.

Marg's expertise as an art therapist emerges from 14 years as a practitioner. She has a Master's degree in art therapy and is a registered art therapist with Australian and New Zealand Art Therapy Association. Marg has worked in fields as diverse as women's health, family support and eating disorders to dementia care, loss and grief and mental health. This includes 8 years working for Alzheimer's Australia NSW as a counsellor, group worker and art therapist as well as running workshops for the Petrea King Quest for Life Foundation.

Marg has appeared on ABC national television Sunday Arts program talking about art therapy for people with dementia. She has presented at various conferences on topics related to art therapy and emotional healing. She brings with her the experience of working with people from age 5 to 95 years. She also brings a love of instilling confidence in others that they can seek out and abide in bright places amongst the shadows of their lives.

What is Art Therapy

Art therapy is a way of asking questions and shining light on the darkened places of our psyche. It is a gentle way of being with our troubles and searching for answers. Making art in therapy can show us the way to our inherent courage and rekindle embers of inner love and sparkles of joy.
To benefit from art therapy all one needs is the desire to seek greater emotional health and the willingness to face the challenges this calls us to. The process involves expression - using art media - and talking in response to this expression. Art making with awareness connects us with a language other than words. It helps us speak about things that we can't find words for. Simultaneously it helps us quieten the mind which seeks to explain everything with words.

How does Art Therapy work?

Art therapy gives the participant a chance:
- to feel beyond the surface,
- to see more deeply,
- to understand themselves with greater clarity,
- to discover what is truly important to them,
- to open to fresh insights into their lives
- to trust that they can create beauty in and around themselves
- to sense their own courage to face change and uncertainty with confidence.
